Meet Keith Symmers
Keith Symmers is a proven leader in creating and building world-class organizations. Keith serves as member of the Board of Directors at Erthos, Inc. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer, acting Chief Financial Officer and corporate secretary.
Prior to co-founding Erthos, Keith led the team responsible for developing and building the world’s largest solar power plant in Abu Dhabi, UAE. His team was comprised of 120 team members and nearly 3,000 workers from 25+ countries. Not only was this the world’s largest plant at the time (1.2 GWDC) it was designed and built in record time (18 months) and delivered at the world’s lowest tariff for a solar plant.
As a former vice president at First Solar, Keith oversaw more than 50 utility-scale solar power plants in development, construction, or operation in Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India, Asia, and the Pacific. With an extensive technical and business management background, Keith lead the development and construction of some of the world’s largest photovoltaic power plants – including the 550 MWac Topaz solar farm in the United States, the 150 MWac Luz del Norte solar project in Chile, and the 80 MWac Sarnia solar farm in Canada. The First Solar engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) team became the nation’s #2 energy construction company within five years of inception.
As a project manager and management consultant, Keith is an expert in many business areas, including complex project management, recruiting and staffing processes, employee performance management, information security, supply chain management, manufacturing performance and quality, SG&A cost management, health & safety, financial management, and M&A integration.
Keith also has co-authored and edited more than two-dozen reports on best business practices. In addition, he has authored several articles for trade journals, providing advice and building thought leadership through several venues.
