Team Members

Keith Symmers -- President and CEO

Keith Symmers has led a multitude of strategic and operational initiatives in the government and commercial industries. His engagements are designed to tie strategic initiatives with operational practicality. Keith’s advice and counsel is broad-reaching, including engagements on recruiting and staffing processes, employee performance management, information security, supply chain management, manufacturing performance and quality, SG&A cost management, health & safety, financial management, and M&A integration.

Keith is widely quoted, providing insights to audiences in the Wall Street Journal, Inc. magazine, Investors Business Daily, Pharmaceutical Executive, and dozens of other publications. Keith also has co-authored and edited more than two-dozen books and published reports. In addition, he has authored several articles for trade journals, providing advice and building thought leadership through several venues.

Drawing upon his experience in diverse aspects of business operations, Keith brings strong technical and operational skills to the company. A retired Naval officer, Keith has held leadership positions overseeing engineering, IT, security, auditing, and training functions. His assignments in the U.S. Navy include overseeing two nuclear reactor plants in USS Enterprise (CVN-65) and acting Executive Officer in USS Arthur W. Radford (DD 968).

Keith received his MBA from Harvard University and his Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Virginia. His accomplishments include certification as a controller & financial management specialist and as a chief engineer/professional engineer for the U.S. Navy; a nuclear reactor operator license from the NRC; three Navy Commendation Medals; and an award for authoring the best undergraduate engineering thesis while at the University of Virginia.

Paul Meade

Paul Meade, a frequent contributor to Clear Point projects, has more than 25 years of healthcare industry experience. Paul has spent most of his career working directly in the pharmaceutical industry, first for Merck then GlaxoSmithKline. He has held a variety of positions within sales and marketing, international marketing, business planning and research and development (R&D). In his last position at Glaxo, as worldwide commercial director for Predictive Medicine, Paul was responsible for developing global commercial strategies and marketing plans for a variety of therapeutic and diagnostic products and services, including the evaluation of biomarkers. Some of his prior managerial positions include group director of business planning and strategy development, international director of marketing, product director, product manager and sales representative.

In 2000, Paul began sharing his expertise with top companies as a consultant to the pharmaceutical, diagnostic and biotechnology companies. His project work has spanned areas such as competitive intelligence structures, communication of clinical trial results, integration of pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies, patient flow analysis, branding, trademark management, publication planning and tracking, health outcomes, advisory board optimization, biomarker assessment, oncology development programs, and other lifecycle management projects.

Paul also often quoted by trade journalists who rely on his expertise. He has published several articles in leading healthcare journals, such as Pharmaceutical Executive, MedAdNews, PharmaVoice, etc. Paul received a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Guelph in Canada, and a B.Sc. from Acadia University. He also spent one year doing research in the area of cancer. He is currently working on a Masters in Public Health at the University of North Carolina.

Tom McCaffrey

Tom McCaffrey, an important contributor to Clear Point projects, is a strategic advisor for high tech firms. A former Navy Captain and submarine commander, Tom is also an entrepreneur, venture fund managing partner, and Chartered Financial Analyst.

Tom brings an established, broad network to government agencies, the intelligence community, and the high tech industry. A decorated veteran of the Cold War, Gulf War, and Global War on Terror, he also served as mlitary liaison to the National Laboratories.

Tom has received an MBA from Stanford University, and a BSME from the University of Pennsylvania.

Erin Bushey

Erin Bushey is an accomplished engineer and consultant on the Clear Point team. A Six-Sigma black belt, she excelled as a management engineer for Duke University Health System. Erin has also served as a contractor and engineering consultant to the U.S. Navy for its Aegis acquisition program.

Erin received an MA in Biomechanics from East Carolina University, as well as a BS in industrial engineering from NC State University.

Ray Potter

Ray is an industry expert in computer science and security. A frequenty member of Clear Point project teams, Ray leads efforts in security assurance strategy, security certifications consulting, and IT risk management.

Ray earned his BS in Computer Science from James Madison University.
